Pirkanmaa Educational Consortium, PIRKO, is a group of educational institutes in Pirkanmaa area that provides a large variety of vocational education and other related services. Pirko was founded in the beginning of 2007 on the grounds of five vocational institutes in the Pirkanmaa area, forming three new institutes:

Services:
With the help of 600 employees around the Pirkanmaa area, PIRKO organises educational services for youth (in Pirkanmaa Vocational Institute), adult education services and employment services (in Adult Education Institute) and apprenticeship services (in Apprenticeship Centre).
The annual number of students in Pirkanmaa Vocational Institute is 3120, in Pirkanmaa Adult Education Institute ca. 5000 and in Pirkanmaa Apprenticeship Centre ca. 3600.

The 16 municipalities belonging to Pirkanmaa Educational Consortium are Ikaalinen, Kangasala, Kuhmalahti, Kuru, Kylmäkoski, Lempäälä, Nokia, Orivesi, Pirkkala, Pälkäne, Ruovesi, Tampere, Vesilahti, Virrat, Ylöjärvi and Ähtäri.
